Chienye serves as the General Counsel and Company Secretary of The Infrastructure Bank (TIB) PLC. In this role, she promotes effective board governance and provides legal advice on various infrastructure transaction arrangements, policy development, regulatory compliance, risk management, and sustainable development. She is passionate about ethical leadership, sustainable infrastructure financing, institutional governance, and inclusive economic development in emerging markets.

Before joining TIB, Chienye worked as a Senior Regulatory Compliance and Control Officer at the Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN) PLC, where she successfully supported the assessment of all compliance-related risks, developed governance and compliance policies, and ensured adherence to relevant laws and regulations. Before that, Chienye served as a Legal Officer at DBN, acting as the Deputy Company Secretary/Legal Adviser for approximately four years. In this capacity, she was responsible for drafting and reviewing contracts and legal documents, delivering legal advice, and supporting the Bank’s Board, Board Committees, Management, and subsidiary.

She also worked as a Legal Associate at A & E Law Partnership, handling transactions related to partial privatisation, transaction advisory, infrastructure investment, and public-private partnerships (PPPs), as well as economic governance and public procurement across the public and private sectors. Additionally, she served as a Programme Coordinator for the Yakubu Gowon Foundation.

Chienye, who holds a master’s degree in International Corporate Law from the University of Leeds, UK, is a member of The Chartered Governance Institute UK, Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators Nigeria (ICSAN), the Compliance Institute of Nigeria (CIN), the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), and the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA). She recently strengthened her strategic execution and project leadership capabilities through Project Management certification with the Project Management Institute (PMI).
