Chienye currently works as the Company Secretary/General Counsel of The Infrastructure Bank (TIB) PLC. She is a Legal and Governance Specialist with 18 years proven experience in promoting efficient board governance, proffering legal advisory on various financing arrangements, policy development, regulatory compliance, risk mitigation and sustainable development.

Prior to joining TIB, Chienye worked as a Senior Regulatory Compliance and Control Officer at the Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN) PLC, where she successfully supported in the assessment of all compliance related risks, developed compliance policies and ensured compliance with various laws and regulations. Before then, Chienye functioned as a Legal Officer in DBN where she deputized the Company Secretary/Legal Adviser for about 4 years. There, she was responsible for developing and reviewing contracts and legal documentation; provided legal advice and supported the Bank, Board, Board Committees, Management and the Bank’s subsidiary.

She worked as a Legal Associate in A & E Law Partnership, where she was privy to have handled transactions relating to partial privatization, transaction advisory, infrastructure investment, public and private partnership (PPPs), economic governance and public procurement within the public and private sectors. She at a time also served as a Programs Coordinator to the Yakubu Gowon Foundation.

Chienye who holds a master’s in International Corporate Law from the University of Leeds, UK is a member of The Chartered Governance Institute UK, Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, Nigeria (ICSAN), Compliance Institute of Nigeria (CIN), Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) and a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
